The McDowell Mountain Golf Club is in northeast Scottsdale off the 101 Freeway at Frank Lloyd Wright Blvd on the east side.

The golf course is a desert style design partially bordering a residential development on the western slope of the McDowell Mountains at the Westworld equestrian center. It provides for a variety of long and shot holes with numerous risk/reward and scoring opportunities with little in the way of water but sand bunkers defending the fairways and green complexes. From the back tees it can play to 7,072 yards, 72.3/137, course/slope ratings with four shorter tees, designed by Randy Heckenkemper with Phil Mickelson's assistance.
