New Mexico State University Golf Course is located just east of I-25 off University/Exit 1 on the southeast side of Las Cruces, on the bench of the Organ and “A” Mountains.

The golf course is parkland-style, winding along tree-lined fairways bordered by natural desert waste areas. The greens tend to be on the small side, slightly raised and are protected by sand bunkers generally on the sides, allowing for bump-n-run shots. It plays to 6,645 yards from the Champions tees, 71.1/126 course/slope ratings with one longer and two shorter sets of tees, designed by Floyd Farley in the 1960s.
