Red Hawk is located on a 200 acre tract of high desert land in a scenic setting on Arroyo Road near the Metro Verde Planned Development north of U.S. Highway 70 and east of Interstate Highway 25.

The golf course is an open, ranging links layout with 5 lakes coming into play on 8 holes and 76 sand bunkers. The layout has plenty of room off the tee with the fairways bordered by native grasses and desert scrub and the greens generous, undulating, and firm. It was designed by Ken Dye playing from 5,502 to 7,523 yards from the tips with the Red, middle tees are at 6,688 yards, 70.9/126, course/slope ratings.
