The Newport News Golf Club at Deer Run is off I-64 at Fort Eustis Road with two 18 hole, championship layouts.

Both layouts are parkland style designs etched through the trees and along natural corridors without homes or development in play. The layouts feature numerous slight doglegs, sand traps positioned along the fairways and greenside, and water in play on 1/3 of the holes. Deer Run is the stronger of the two courses playing to 7,206 yards from the tips, 74.2/132, course/slope ratings. The Cardinal is more forgiving at 6,645 yards, 72.3/125, course/slope from the tips, each with four shorter tees, designed by Ed Ault in the 1960s.
