Northern Pines is on the north side of Syracuse just south of Oneida Lake on Rt 31 in Cicero surrounded by forests.

The golf course provides a combination of open and narrow, fairways with numerous ponds affecting play and sand bunkers throughout the fairways and guarding the greens. It's 6,557 yards from the tips, par 71, 71.6/124, course/slope ratings and two shorter tees, the original nine designed by George Swatt and the new nine by Barry Jordan.
