The P.B. Dye golf course is located off I-270 in Ijamsville at exit 22 to the west on a natural tract of land surrounded by fields and forests in the shadow of Sugarloaf Mountain.
The course is named after Pete Dye's son, P.B., a prolific and at times devious golf course architect, and features the Dye trademark railroad ties, pot bunkers, mounding, and a semi-island par 3 green. The fairways are large, rolling, and well-guarded by the inventive use of sand bunkers with an occasional stream or pond in play. The approaches are shaved around the greens, which gathers less than-accurate approach shots into a series of collection areas and sand traps. The greens are of all shapes and sizes and typically quick with moderate undulation. It plays to 6,724 yards, 72.2/136, course/slope ratings from the tips with three shorter tees.
