The P.B. Dye golf course is located off I-270 in Ijamsville at exit 22 to the west on a natural tract of land surrounded by fields and forests in the shadow of Sugarloaf Mountain.
The course is named after Pete Dye's son, P.B., a prolific and at times devious golf course architect and features the Dye trademark railroad ties, pot bunkers, mounding, and a semi-island par 3 green. The fairways are large, rolling, and well-guarded by the inventive use of sand bunkers with an occasional stream or pond in play. The approaches are shaved around the greens which gathers less than accurate approach shots into a series of collection areas and sand traps. The greens are of all shapes and sizes and typically quick with moderate undulation. It plays to 6,724 yards, 72.2/136, course/slope ratings from the tips with three shorter tees.
