Saddleback Ridge Golf Course is 20 minutes north of Iowa City and 30 minutes south of Cedar Rapids on the east side of Solon surrounded by farmland.

The layout is generally a wide open, links-style layout although several fairways are lined with trees, and interestingly, it features an equal combination of six par 5s, 4s, and 3s. The mounded fairways are bordered by a few water hazards and there's little in the way of sand traps. There's four sets of tees with the tips playing to 6,615 yards, 70.7/121, course/slope ratings, designed by Mark Kerr.
