Saddleback Ridge Golf Course is 20 minutes north of Iowa City and 30 minutes south of Cedar Rapids. It is on the east side of Solon, surrounded by farmland.

The layout is generally a wide-open, links-style layout, although several fairways are lined with trees. Interestingly, it features an equal combination of six par 5s, 4s, and 3s. The mounded fairways are bordered by a few water hazards, and there's little in the way of sand traps. There are four sets of tees, with the tips playing to 6,615 yards, 70.7/121, course/slope ratings, designed by Mark Kerr.
