Sandia is located on New Mexico's largest Indian Reservation in northwest Albuquerque at the I-25/Tramway exit.

The golf course is challenging and entertaining layout over a large tract of rolling, desert terrain along unique and isolated fairways. The layout is fair off the tee with broad fairways, numerous water hazards, and a generous amount of sand bunkers along the landing zones and defending the greens. It's in a particularly scenic setting with the views of the Rio Grande Valley and the Sandia Mountains going on forever on a clear day. It's long even with the altitude advantage at 7,755 yards, 76.0/133, course/slope from the back tees with four shorter tees, designed by a former Nicklaus architect, Scott Miller.
