Santee Cooper is on the south side of Lake Marion just east of I-95 off exit 98.

The golf course is a solid parkland layout along fairways defined by pine trees over rolling terrain. There's a generous amount of sand traps along the fairways and defending the greens, numerous slight and dramatic doglegs, and 1/3 of the holes with water hazards in play featuring an 18th hole overlooking the Lake. It plays to 6,589 yards from the tips, 71.1/124, course/slope ratings with three shorter tees, designed by George Cobb.
