Savannah Lakes Village is a 4,000-acre resort and residential community on the Savannah River 40 miles north of Augusta with two 18-hole golf courses.

The Tara and Monticello layouts are similar in design as they weave through the community over rolling terrain along fairways defined by oak and pine trees. Monticello is more scenic, with several holes directly on Lake Thurmond and water hazards in play on half the holes, while Tara has wooded and isolated fairway corridors. Tom Clark designed both courses. Monticello has tees from 4,600 to 6,800 yards; the middle, white tees play to 6,054 yards, 70.1/129, course/slope ratings; Tara has tees from 4,400 to 6,800 yards; the white tees play to 5,790 yards, 70.0/134.
