Sequoyah National is owned by the Eastern Band of the Cherokee and is located about an hour west of Asheville.

The layout is picturesque in the middle of the Great Smoky Mountain National Park with views of the Clingmans Dome peak, the Snowbird Mountain range, and through the Thomas Valley. It's a pure mountain-style layout with dramatic elevation change along tree-lined fairways with several water hazards but a generous amount of strategically positioned sand bunkers along the landing zones and guarding the greens. There are four sets of tees overall, with the tips playing to 6,246 yards, 71.3/139, course/slope ratings, designed by Robert Trent Jones II and Notah Begay III.
