Maggie Valley is located in the Maggie Valley resort area off I-40, 45 minutes west of Asheville.

The layout is a primarily open and forgiving parkland-style design, with the front side playing over level terrain in the valley. At the same time, the backside moves up into the mountains with a total elevation change of 800 feet. The fairways are lined with trees along several ponds and Big Spring Branch Creek with a modest amount of sand bunkers mainly positioned around the greens. It plays to 6,466 yards, 69.9/128, course/slope ratings from the back tees with two shorter sets of tees, designed by William Prevost Sr. with assistance by Emmett Mitchell.
