Shepard Hills is 30 minutes west of Binghamton in Waverly off the Southern Tier Expressway at exit 60 to the north.

The golf course is a compact, parkland style design providing an interesting mix of holes with water hazards, 50+ sand traps, and heavy rough as the course's main defenses. The fairways are a mix of broad and narrow on hilly and sloping land which produce a variety of odd lies and angles to the greens. It plays to 6,296 yards, 72.2/119, course slope ratings from the tips with three shorter tees, designed by Geoffrey Cornish.
