Shepherd's Hollow is located 30 miles northwest of Detroit in northern Oakland County at the intersection of I-75 and Dixie Highway in Clarkston with 27 holes.

The golf course is cut through a 350 acre pine and hardwood forest over rolling and sloping fairways with 160-feet in elevation change throughout without homes or development along the holes. There's ponds in play on several holes, but a generous amount of sand bunkers along the fairways and guarding the greens. The 1-18 combination is one of the toughest tracts in Michigan at 7,236 yards, 76.0/146 course/slope ratings from the tips with four shorter tees. 10-27 is 6,804 yards, 75.8/144; 19-9 is 7,189 yards, 75.4/144, designed by Arthur Hills.
