Sugarwood is 5 minutes south of Huntington on WV 152.

The golf course moves through a small valley over rolling hills and along tree-lined fairways. There's a moderate amount of sand bunkering, an abundance of streams and ponds, and tiered and sloping greens, adding to the challenge. From the tips, the course plays to 6,710 yards, 70.7/131, course/slope ratings, with three shorter tees and redesign work by Ed Allen.
