Talking Stick is on the east side of Scottsdale near Fountain Hills with two 18 layouts off the 101 Freeway at the Talking Stick Resort of the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community.

The golf courses are over generally level terrain offering views of the bordering Camelback Mountain, McDowell Mountains, and Pinnacle Peak throughout. The O’odham Course course is a links-like layout through the desert terrain but bordered by high native grasses and waste areas leading to somewhat over-sized greens that accept the bump and run shot. The Piipaash course has more in the way of cottonwood tree lined fairways with an abundance of sand bunkers and raised green complexes. The North course measure 7,713 yards, 72.7/125, course/slope ratings; the South is 6,833 yards, 72.1/127, course/slope, both from the back tees with three shorter tee boxes, designed by Coore/Crenshaw.
