Terrace Hills is on the east side of the Des Moines area on 45th Avenue east of Altoona.

The parkland layout's fairways are lined by trees over hilly terrain surrounded by farmland. There's numerous ponds and Mud Creek impacting play along with an assortment of sand traps along the fairways and guarding the greens. It's a par 71 layout with tee boxes from 5,309 yards to 6,357 yards at the tips, 69.1/116, course/slope ratings, designed by Joe Riding.
