Copper Creek is located just off East University Avenue in Pleasant Hill in East Des Moines.

The layout is a parkland-style course through a residential community over rolling hills. It has a mix of narrow and broad, tree-lined fairways and sand bunkers scattered about the fairways and greens. The course is relatively short, at 6,338 yards from the back tees, 70.4/119 course/slope ratings, and two shorter tee boxes. It was designed by Gordon Cunningham in 1997.
