The Links at Union Vale is located about 90 minutes north of New York City in southern Dutchess County, 12 miles east of Poughkeepsie. The course was built by a group of Irish golfers from the New York area who were tired of the limited availability of tee times and built it here in the country.

The result of their efforts is an open, links-style design along broad fairways bordered by tall fescue grasses over rolling terrain in a scenic setting in the Hudson Valley. While there are numerous ponds and wetlands in play, the dominant feature is the abundance and variety of sand bunkers throughout the fairways and defending the greens. Stephen Kay designed it, which is 6,954 yards, 72.1/132, course/slope ratings from the tips, with four shorter tees.
