The National Golf Club of Louisiana is on the north side of Lake Charles in Westlake off I-10 at exit 27.

The course is challenging as it journeys along pine tree lined and mounded fairways with 65 sand bunkers, 14 water hazards, blind shots, and quick and undulating greens. There's five sets of tees with the white tees playing to 6,177 yards, 69.8/124, course/slope ratings, designed by Dave Bennett in 2009.
