The Orchards is 10 miles north of Utica off the Van Dyke Freeway at 29 mile road to the west.

The course was developed in conjunction with an overall community development although the housing doesn't infringe on the golf course. The layout weaves its way through trees and apple orchards over rolling terrain with several water hazards and heavy sand bunkering along the fairways and generous greens. It plays to 7,036 yards from the tips 74.5/136, course/slope ratings with three shorter tees, designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr in 1993.
