The Preserve was the first course at Reynolds Plantation opening in 1988.

The course rolls extensively as it lumbers along sloping, tree lined fairways with numerous elevated greens and tees. There's 13 holes with water hazards featuring several holes along Lake Oconee and a modest amount of sand bunkers defending the fairway landing zones and greens. It was designed by Bob Cupp, Fuzzy Zoeller, and Hubert Green, and from the black tees is 6,674-yards, par-72, 72.3/133, course/slope ratings with four shorter tees.
