Glade Springs is a four-season resort in the Appalachian Mountains south of Beckley. It offers lodging, a spa, skiing, and three 18-hole golf courses within the 2,900-acre Glade Springs development, which includes 800 homes and is located 12 miles south off I-64 east of Beckley.
The Cobb Course has even more elevation change than Stonehaven and features eight lakes and 50+ sand bunkers over hilly and sloping terrain. It's 7,151 yards from the back tees, 74.8/143, course/slope ratings with five shorter tees, designed by George Cobb.
Stonehaven is the premier layout here and a classic parkland design with maple, beech, and hickory stands lining the fairways along with waste and traditional sand bunkers. There are occasional rock outcropping borders over a series of dramatic elevation changes as it loops around Chatham Lake. It has five sets of tees, with the middle white tees at 6,215 yards, 69.8/128, course/slope ratings, designed by Brian Adult and Tom Clark.
Woodhaven provides even more elevation change than Stonehaven as it moves along the Glade Creek Gorge and through a valley bordered by natural rock gardens and giant rhododendrons. There are five sets of tees, with the middle white tees at 6,010 yards, 70.1/133, course/slope ratings, designed by Adult/Clark as well.
