The Woods at Cherry Creek is on the east end of Long Island in Riverhead, on Reeves Avenue. It is carved out of deep woods over generally level topography.

The Woods is challenging as the course's fairways are lined by trees with 40 sand traps and multiple water hazards. There are four sets of tees from 5,059 to 6,550 yards off the back tees where the course/slope ratings are 71.3/132, designed by Charles Jurgens.
