True Blue was built upon the site of a working rice and indigo plantation across the street from The Caledonia with the entrance drive lined with old live oaks leading to the old south styled clubhouse.

The golf course's moniker is "Heaven and Hell" and with good reason. The layout has massive waste areas, scattered mounds, numerous water features, and contoured, undulating greens potentially making for a long day, but in a most scenic setting. The routing features broad fairways off the tee with modest elevation change throughout and has a Pine Valley/Pine Barrens feel to it as the fairways and greens surrounded by the vast waste areas. The course can play to 7,126 yards, 74.3/145, course/slope ratings from the tips with four shorter tee boxes, and was designed by Mike Stranz and true to his architectural reputation.
