Tunxis is a 45 hole public golf course on the west side of Hartford off I-84 at Farmington Avenue sauntering through a natural tract of land on the west side of the Farmington River.

The complex consists of the Green and White, 18 hole layouts and the Red nine. They're primarily parkland style layouts meandering along old growth, tree lined fairways over slightly rolling terrain. There's multiple water hazards with Poplar Swamp Brook, numerous ponds, and the Farmington River in play in addition to a healthy dose of sand traps positioned at the landing zones and defending the greens. The Green course is 6,446 yards from the tips, 70.9/125, course/slope ratings. The White plays to 6,638 yards, 71.3/124, and the Red is 3,219 yards, 35.1/125, all with two shorter tees, designed by Al Zikorus
