Wachesaw East was built on a former rice plantation about 20 minutes south of the airport in Murrells Inlet within a residential development.

The course cruises through the woods along undulating fairways with water in play on all but three holes and a liberal amount of sand through the fairways and guarding the greens. It is a Clyde Johnson design of 6,933 yards, 74.1/135, course/slope ratings from the back tees with multiple shorter tees. There's a second course at Wachesaw, a Fazio design, but it's private and not open to public play.
