Walden Oaks is on the southwest side of Cortland off Rt 13 partially bordering a residential development with the balance of the holes carved through deep woods.

The layout is a parkland design and a somewhat target layout. The fairways range between open and narrow and are bordered by mature hardwood trees, numerous ponds and streams, a host of doglegs, and a modest amount of sand traps, mostly guarding the greens. The course was designed by Bill Galloway and plays to 6,035 yards from the tips, 70.0/123 course/slope ratings with two shorter tees.
