Whispering Woods is southwest of downtown Erie at the northwest corner of I-90 and I-79

The layout is a parkland style design over rolling and sloping, tree lined fairways partially within a residential community with unique and isolate fairway corridors. There's 50+ sand bunkers along the fairways and securing the greens in addition to streams, ponds, waterfalls, and numerous forced carries over natural areas. It can play to 6,804 yards, 74.0/144, course/slope ratings from the back tees with four shorter tees, designed by John Exley.
