Whitney Oaks is in a residential community between Roseville and Auburn east of Sacramento.

The course is a challenging, parkland style layout along tree lined fairways over rolling and sloping land with a surprising change in elevation. There's wetlands and ponds, rock outcroppings, natural waste areas, and sand bunkers bordering the fairways and defending the greens. It was designed by Johnny Miller and plays to 6,794 yards, 74.0/140, course/slope ratings from the back tees with four shorter tee boxes.
