Bull Run is in Haymarket off I-66 at the James Madison Highway to the north in the Bull Run Foothills.

The course is in a scenic setting as it cruises through open meadows along ponds, streams, and lakes over rolling and broad, tree lined fairways on a large tract of land with each hole unique and isolated. The greens are mid-sized, fast, and open at the front to allow the pitch and run shot yet well defended by a bevy of sand bunkers. The course plays to 6,961 yards, 73.6/137, course/slope ratings off the back tees with four shorter tees, designed by Richard Jacobson in 1969.
