The Golf Club of Illinois is in the northwest suburb of Algonquin off the NW Tollway/I-90 to Randall Road then north.

It's a links-style layout mostly devoid of trees meandering through a residential development over mounded fairways bordered by tall fescue-type grasses. There are water hazards in play on six holes with extensive sand bunker complexes at the landing zones and guarding the greens. From the blue tees, it's 6,589 yards, 71.8/128, course/slope ratings with two shorter tee boxes available, designed by Dick Nugent and Bruce Borland in the 1980s.
