Highland Ridge has two 18-hole layouts located north of Sebring and southeast of Avon Park on the east side of Route 17 in a remote area surrounded by farmland and groves. Both courses border a residential development and are a mile apart, with two separate clubhouses.
The Ridge Course is over-level terrain, and it goes through wetlands and lakes with four holes wrapping around Mud Lake. There are various holes, some tight and tree-lined, while others open up links-style. Sand bunkers are plentiful along the fairways and greenside, and the greens are mid-sized, sloped, and contoured. There are five sets of tees from 5,000 yards to 7,234 yards, the middle tee play to 6,176 yards, 70.5/127, and course/slope ratings, designed by David Harman.
The Preserve is a compact, shot-makers layout that weaves through narrow, tree-lined fairway corridors with numerous water hazards and sand bunkers in play. Steve Smyers designed four sets of tees from 4,469 yards to 6,176 yards at the tips, with course/slope ratings of 69.8/129.
