Kelly Plantation is just across the Mid-Bay Bridge on the Emerald Coast Parkway within a resort, real estate development on Choctawhatchee Bay.

The golf course was carved out of a turpentine plantation with a series of holes through stands of pine trees bordered by lakes and wetlands on 15 holes with sugar white sand bunkers of varying sizes protecting the fairways and greens. The greens are generous with a variety of shapes and moderately undulating. It plays to 7,099 yards, 74.2/144, course/slope ratings from the back tees with four sets of shorter tees, designed by Fred Couples and Gene Bates in 1998.
