Laguna Seca is east of Monterey on the Monterey-Salinas Highway a couple miles east of the Monterey Airport located far enough inland to be free from the marine layer most of the time.

The layout is within a residential development and moves over rolling hills with narrow and sloping, oak tree lined fairways. There's a liberal amount of sand bunkers at the landing zones and guarding the greens with numerous water features. It's only 6,174 yards from the tips, 70.2/129, course/slope ratings with four shorter sets of tees, designed in 1970 by Robert Trent Jones Sr. and Robert Trent Jones Jr.
