Carmel Valley Ranch is 5 miles east of Carmel and the Pacific.

The course tours through vineyards, lavender fields, ponds and old-growth oak groves draped in Spanish moss with water features on five holes. The front nine journeys mostly through the level valley with views out to the Santa Lucia Mountains while the backside is more challenging with elevation change up one side of the mountain and down the other providing views to the Pacific. It's a Pete Dye design with a par of 70, 6,117 yards, 70.1/131, course/slope ratings from the tips with three shorter sets of tees.
