Maderas is just off the I-15 north of San Diego at Rancho Bernardo to the east.

The golf course is routed over a large tract of rolling terrain along cliffs, rock outcroppings, creeks, ponds, sand bunkers, and tree lined fairways. The exterior holes are bordered by upscale homes, but otherwise the balance border natural corridors or adjoining holes. It was designed by Johnny Miller and Robert Muir Graves in the late 1990's and plays to 7,167 yards, 75.4/144, course/slope from the tips with five shorter tees.
