Mt. Woodson is 40 minutes northeast of downtown San Diego off the I-15 on the northeast side of Poway on CA 67.

The course is situated below Mount Woodson on a former estate and partially winding through a residential community. It's a challenging, parkland layout with fairways bordered by giant boulders, mature oaks, and eucalyptus stands. Each hole is named for its character with Razor's Edge, Ledges, Drop Off, The Chute, Tree Tops, The Plunge, all appropriately titled. The routing provides every conceivable kind of impediment to par with water, trees, ravines, sloping fairways, and sand traps yielding a target-style layout. There's a 450-foot wooden bridge that winds through the treetops and adds to the unique experience here. It's a short, 5,764 yards at the tips, 69.0/133, course/slope ratings, par of 70 with two shorter tees, designed by Lee Schmidt.
