The New York Country Club is just over the New Jersey line in New Hempstead off the Palisades.

The golf course is a shot maker's layout where both distance and accuracy are required. It's a parkland design along tree lined fairways and multiple water hazards with a liberal use of a variety of sand traps and fairway-long waste bunkers in a setting providing occasional views of the Manhattan skyline. It was designed by Stephen Kay in the 1990s and from the tips it's 6,643 yards, 72.3/133, course/slope ratings with two shorter sets of tees.
