Northeast Harbor Golf Club is on Mount Desert Island in Northeast Harbor about 20 minutes southeast of Bar Harbor in a scenic setting on the east side of Somes Sound and is open to outside play during the off months.
The layout provides a collection of parkland style holes carved through the deep woods along isolated corridors and five wide open, link-style holes over land with a moderate change in elevation. There's one pond and Hadlock Brook bordering a few holes with most of the sand bunkers guarding the sides of the small, raised greens. The course is a classic having originated in the late 1800s with Arthur Lockwood designing the initial 9 holes, Herb Strong adding the second nine in the mid-1920s, and Geoffrey Cornish updating the design. There's four sets of tees overall with the tips playing to 5,606 yards, 68.0/128, course/slope ratings.
