Orchard Creek is located 12 miles west of Albany off the Thruway at the base of the Helderberg Mountains.

The golf course was built on land that had been a working apple orchard which remains on the boundaries of the layout. The fairways are broad off the tees with scattered trees or stands of dense forest at the borders. Bozen Kill traverses the eastern third of the layout in addition to numerous wetlands/ponds in play on over half the holes with sand bunkers positioned along the fairways and guarding the generous, tiered greens. It plays to 6,623 yards from the back tees, 72.0/131, course/slope ratings with three shorter tee boxes, designed by Paul Cowley.
