Oyster Bay is just over the North Carolina state line in Sunset Beach between the Calabash River and the Intracoastal.

The golf course advertises there are penal, heroic, and strategic philosophies of golf course architecture here, and it's hard to disagree! The layout provides forced carries over marshes, lakes, ponds and the River with two island greens and sand bunkers positioned along the fairways and guarding the greens. There are also cut-off as much as you wish risk/reward options over lakes and doglegs, which command your best course management. The sand bunkers are large and deep, with the greens wildly undulating and extremely quick. It's 6,685 yards from the tips with a par of 70, 72.1/136, course/slope ratings with three shorter tees, designed in 1983 by Dan Maples.
