Bald Head Island Golf Club is north of Myrtle Beach, about 1 1/2 hours and about 45 minutes south of Wilmington. It is only accessible by ferry or private boat and is open to guests of the rental units on the Island.

It's a demanding layout journeying along isolated fairways bordered by natural areas through heavily forested, level coastal land, with the wind off the Atlantic always a factor. There are water features in play on most of the holes, in addition to a multitude of conventional sand traps and long sandy waste areas framing the fairways and defending the greens. It was originally designed by George Cobb with a recent renovation by Tim Cate, and now plays to 6,823 yards, 73.7/143, course/slope ratings from the back tees with four shorter tees.
