Lockwood Folly is a parkland style layout within a residential community between Oak Island and Holden Beach on the Lockwood Folly River, the Intracoastal Waterway, and near the Atlantic Ocean. It's about an hour northeast of North Myrtle Beach and about 45 minutes west of Southport.

The layout journeys through an old hunting plantation with a most of the Live Oaks, pines, and Cypress trees remaining in tact. The course is a challenging layout with tight tree lined fairways, frequent water hazards, and sand guarding the landing zones and greens. From the tips the course plays to 6,657 yards, 73.6/140, course/slope ratings with four shorter tees, designed by Willard Byrd.
