Panama Country Club is situated on the Intracoastal Waterway along the Gulf of Mexico on the north side of Panama City.

The layout's abundant trees were mercilessly pruned by Hurricane Michael in 2018 providing much more open and accessible play. The fairways are over level terrain carved through tree lined boarders along ponds and wetlands with homes bordering the exterior holes. The greens are slightly raised, modest in size, and defended by deep sand bunkers. It can play to 6,626 yards, 71.5/125, course/slope ratings from the tips, with eight holes remaining that were designed by Captain Charles Hugh Alison.
