Tapawingo is located in west St. Louis off Watson Road, with 27 holes, in an upscale residential development.

The golf course is set in a scenic setting on the Meramec River over rolling terrain with water hazards or wetlands in play on over half the holes, which are concentrated on the Prairie Nine. There's liberal use of sand traps positioned along the landing zones and greens as it journeys along tree-lined fairways with several forced carries and risk/reward options. There are five sets of tees overall with yardages, and course/slope ratings from the tips: Woodlands-3,520-yards, The Prairie-3,631, The Meramec-3,493 yards.
