The Boulders is in far north Scottsdale in the Carefree/Cave Creek area off Cave Creek Highway with two 18-hole, championship layouts in the high Sonoran Desert in the foothills of the Black Mountains.

The setting for the golf is a bit surreal as the layouts journey through gigantic rock formations and boulders with a number of unusual and distinctive holes in a stunning environment overall. The North plays to 6,811 yards, 72.6/137, course/slope ratings from the tips. the South, which might be more scenic, is 6,726 yards 71.9/140 with four shorter tees, both designed by Jay Morrish in the early 1980s.
