The Loon Golf Resort is just south of Gaylord at the Old 27 exit off I-75 on the east side of the Interstate with three 18 hole layouts.

The "Loon" course is a parkland design over rolling terrain along broad fairways defined by old growth hardwoods with a generous amount of sand traps, and water hazards in play on over half the holes. There's four sets of tees from 4,890 yards to 6,677 yards, the Silver tees are 5,580 yards, 68.9/130, course/slope ratings, designed by Mike Husby.

The "Lakes" course provides for a blend of links and parkland holes with four holes bordering Lake Michaywe. It's a Jerry Matthews design from the late 1980s with four sets of tees from 4,700 to 6,418 yards, with the White tees at 6,120 yards, 69.3/123, course/slope ratings.

The "Ridge" is a classic, northern Michigan layout carved through a forest with significant elevation change throughout. There's minimal water hazards in play, but an ample amount of sand traps along the landing areas and guarding the greens. There's four sets of tees from 4,495 yards to 6,231 yards at the tips with the white tees playing to 5,842 yards, 69.0/128, course/slope ratings, designed by Mike Husby.
