Timberlane is south of downtown New Orleans in Gretna on Lapalco Blvd within an established, residential community.

The golf course is a shot maker's layout where accuracy is required both off the tee and on approach to the greens. The routing is heavily wooded with narrow, oak and cypress tree lined fairways between the homes in addition to 17 water features and an abundance of sand traps, particularly guarding the greens. It plays to 6,676 yards from the tips, the white tees play to 6,163 yards 71.6/128 course and slope ratings, an early Robert Trent Jones, Sr design.
