The Crown Golf Club is off Silver Lake Road on the southwest side of Traverse City within a residential community with homes along the exterior holes.

The layout is along rolling and broad, tree-lined fairways with numerous elevated greens and tees, doglegs, water hazards, sand traps, and blind shots, adding to the challenge. Gary Pulsipher designed the course in the mid-1980s, and it has four sets of tees from 4,837 yards to 6,661 yards, with course/slope ratings from the tips of 71.8/134.
